For thousands of years small tattoo designs have been part of our culture. These small tattoo designs were used by ancient Christians as a way to recognize fellow Christians. The oldest tattoo that was ever found on a human body dates back some 9,000 years.

Captain Cook brought the word tattoo into our language after he and his men began to have them done in places such as Tahiti. All sailors started to have tattoos done on themselves after that. Over the centuries that followed, tattoos earned a negative reputation. People associated the tattoos with the lower class and criminals. This will lower your chances of several health issues that you might incur while getting yourself tattooed. Hepatitis C, school sores, Impetigo, or even an allergic reaction are possible. None of these illnesses are things to be taken lightly. Setting aside the health concerns, the actual quality of the design is significant. There are several sources for finding these on the Internet.

Anyone will tell you it’s going to be painful. It is a test of endurance. Small tattoo designs are a major endurance test. These tattoos require so many intricate details that they take time which results in a prolongation of time factor. Another thing to consider prior to getting a tattoo is the expense of getting it removed if you decide you don’t like it. So before deciding to get any size tattoo, put some thought into it. This is something that you are permanently adding to your body.

Also, because the tattoo cannot be soaked in water for approximately a week, you are going to have to avoid swimming and soaking in the bath. However, it is too inconspicuously engraved on your body for letting the enjoyment of plunging in water go by! Remember, however, that you need to keep sun exposure of your tattoo to a minimum. This seems to cause the colors to fade due to bleaching. So when you go outside with your small tattoo design exposed, protect it with sun block. Choose a small, petite design and know that a tattoo can be work for any persona.
